Building Control Management

Overview

The Building Control System is designed to assist local government and authorities responsible for building control processes such as processing and tracking applications for proposed buildings. It encompasses domain specific computer-based functions to application processing including applications for New Building Erection, Changes to Existing Building Usage, Temporary Building Applications and Retaining wall Applications. This system is delivered complete with functionalities to tracking and controlling of milestones, especially for critical ones within an application process. Such critical controls could be notification of Project Application Initiation, Approval or Disapproval of Applications, and Issuing Certificate of Fitness to Building Occupancy.

The Building Control System records the location of the proposed building application into a backend spatial database, for ease of future geographical references.

OCTANS™ Document is a complementary product used to manage documents such as drawings, plans and associated documents pertaining to an application submission.

  • The system is capable of automatically generating reminders to applicants/Qualified Persons on the expiry of the written direction compliance date.
  • Building information in the spatial database is linked to the document management system.
  • Retrieval facilities of current and historical data will be simplified and it will reduce the reference to paper files and maps
  • Security is enforced which will prevent unauthorized access to certain information at system level
